While Echoes

While echoes wail their nightly song
And chasing shadows chase along
My psyche rides an agile horse
While I patrol a fragile course

I skirt about the memory trees
Push aside those hanging leaves
Search the meadows sign and move
And fix my lance a likely groove

The forest is my fantasy
Illusions not reality
But phantoms play a subtle part
Of all the awe in living art

That’s right it’s I a part the mist
To season up my brew of gist
Bringing me a better coup
To face the doing of the do

And so my ego rides the tide
While wash of sands spill times abide
