The Coca-Cola Company’s headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia, where the drink was first created around 1884. The Coca-Cola Company has also introduced other soft drinks under the Coca-Cola brand name. When some drinks marketed by the company remain unaffiliated with Coca-Cola the drink, such as Sprite [Lemonade]. In addition, the commercial success of Coca Cola has been periodically challenged, in particular by its main rival Pepsi-Cola. Pepsi-Cola, more commonly called “Pepsi”, is a soft drink produced by PepsiCo. The Pepsi-Cola brand was trademarked in 1903, although the drink was first made in New Bern, North Carolina, USA, in 1898, by pharmacist Caleb Bradham. Similar to Coca-Cola, its major rival, Pepsi was originally intended to cure stomach pains. © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
