Lasso the Moon If I had a thread I’d lasso the fullest full moon I’d drag it closer to me singing a happy tune about eating green cheese with a fork and a spoon I’d fly up to the sky on the back of a pink baboon and I’d dance with the fairies in a snowstorm in June. If I had a rope I’d tie it around the blue sky I’d tiptoe across it and fly with the birds way up high I’d sing my silliest songs about the bright fire flies and dance like those fairies without ever caring why I’d become light like a cloud that is baked in a pie If I had a fishing line I’d use it to reel in the sun I’d cast and I’d pull ‘til my work was finally done and I’d skip in the warm rays like butterflies on the run I’d spend my happiest days racing the fairies having fun knowing the love that they share is the best prize to be won If I had a friend who lived way far away from me I’d sing her a song and show her all the love that I see and I’d take her the fairies that dance among the leaves We'd be forever together sharing stories and memories I’d forever love and cherish my friend so very far from me aziza |
