This is to my favourite English Lit colleague, who we would call a "teapot" on account of the pose she most typically strikes when she's doing her job. The tum tee tum tempo is deliberate. Claire Would Know A bustle here, then a skip and hop Here comes Claire as she flies aloft; A wash of maidens, in her paper trail Clamour like gulls, not quite as pale. Here comes Claire as she minds the shop, Girls below and girls on top, Where do they go, to the left and right? Would Claire not know? I think she might; Claire is radiant; on my eye, so light. You are all very sweet. Is it a serious poem? Obviously not, but the point is that nursery rhymes are SO INCREDIBLE!!!!!! if you have any sensibility at all. M, huglet gratefully received, and returned with interest. Bd'L |
