Just a Puzzle When you miss the boat, arms flailing, blinded by fear, it's so easy to quit. It’s easy to toss down your bat and leave home plate to go home. Take your balls with you. They are no good to me without you. We can couch our fear with excuses and hide behind sadness that is misrepresented. While misplaced rejection pushes at the guilt we feel. We can be afraid to love and afraid to be loved. And that, my darling, is the ultimate oxymoron. It’s all just a puzzle to entertain us. aziza |
