as the little generals and political demagogues lay out their maps, intent upon crossing the Litani river to push them back, all the way back but always, there is another river, then another and another; more rivers than even George had wanted to cross though none today as critical as the Litani and as those sworn to wiping Jews off the face of Mother Earth feed the frenzy, the madness, laying out their own maps, ones that show what the ME is after Israel is gone... you must understand, the Hizbullah fighters are mostly locals, the young men, the families, the Lebanese villagers... they are not aliens, not invaders, not outsiders brought inside, even though supported emotionally, and with money and weapons from outsiders (as is the IDF) Oh, my beloved kibbutzniks! they too, suffer endlessly, trapped constantly between warmongers and radicals on both sides of this Hate wall, while persuing dreams of nurturing Peace and Goodwill, loving people on both sides while being forced to protect and defend the children, the future, survival but it gets harder each day to hear the word Peace fall from anyone's lips and the voices of those who struggle to stop the fighting are being drowned out by the cacophony, the sounds of escalation, retribution, vengeance I shall laugh heartily at the next Hollywood blockbuster that depicts outer space aliens destroying Mother Earth and its inhabitants, for aliens can do nothing we aren't already doing to ourselves [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (08-06-2006 10:45 PM).] |

Bravo Kacy, war is war, those who perpetrate these crimes against our human brothers and sisters deserve to be shamed. On both sides of this, it is not just Iran and Syria helping one side but my country and the US helping the others and they are ALL as bad,and the shame of the world should be focused on them for providing the arms that kill innocent people caught up in this conflict...NO MORE WAR...lets have some peace and stability in this world for the future generations..a fine write Kacy..i agree...aliens are our last thought as we destroy ourselves without exception... Phil, thank you for taking time to read and reply, but mostly, for your understanding. Sy, thanking you deeply, knowing this whole scene must be dealing blows to your heart as well. |

"I shall laugh heartily at the next Hollywood blockbuster that depicts outer space aliens destroying Mother Earth and its inhabitants, for aliens can do nothing we aren't already doing to ourselves" Exactly, my friend. It is so sad. I hear the weeping. *hugs*...jo |

thanks James, and you are on the right track it all begins within the immediate family, then to the extended family of each of us hi Jo, glad to have you visit for a moment it's a horrific scene, in the ME and elsewhere, and it seems to never end, this penchant for violence |

A social conscious ~ actually a "human" conscious ~ write on the inhumanities perpetrated by Man against his fellow Man. What is happening in the Middle East is sad, sickening ~ and scary! Perhaps we need some alien assistance! Love, Light ~ Peace & Harmony, Linda |

Once again, war is hell. And hell is other people. I never understood any of it and I never will. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Thanks to each of you for reading and commenting. I expect some who read to disagree with my take on this ME issue. It's your right to disagree. Hopefully, you will be open to understanding there are many underlying causes for this sad escalation of violence. The Litani River is a crucial water source, and the rights to its water has been at issue for many years. Beyond the strategic value of this area, the survival of many depends upon who gets these water rights. The Lebanese claim it is solely theirs, the Israelis want it too. What I am getting at here, is that this particular war scenario isn't just about missiles and soldiers captured. I implore you to look beyond the surface. Then also turn your gaze toward Damascus when you want to understand the forces that fuel Hezbollah. Hezbollah, however, are not outsiders or terrorist aliens; they are a substantial factor in Lebanese politics, and are primarily citizens who see no future beyond constant battles with Israel. And the harder the Israelis strike the heart of Beirut, the deeper Hezbollah digs in, and the more recruits it receives from the next generation. |
