"That's What Makes A Cowgirl Cry"

Views of the snowcapped mountain peaks
In the warm rays of the Colorado sun
Dusty clothes and aching bones
When a hard day's work is done
Her sons hugs and kisses
Long lost wishes
Waiting for true love to come along
The warmth she sees in a lover's eyes
Lonesome, sad country songs
A newborn child
A horse that's wild
A lost puppy in the rain
The love she knew so long ago
Now the loneliness and pain
Deep forest
Cold streams
Her future hopes and dreams
Hard spring winds that blow
Farewell's to friends
The warm days that end
And loving a man who will never know
Fireworks that light the sky
In the hot summer nights of July
Remembrance of loved ones passed away
The words she never heard him say
The fullest and the brightest moon
The springtime flowers all in bloom
Ending a love with a last goodbye
That's what makes a cowgirl cry

Dear Melissa Joy, I didn't think anything made a cowgirl cry until I read your poem.  This is a great poem! I must show my daughter this poem. She is crazy in love with horses being a cowgirl herslf. She owns about 10 horses and her and my 16 year old grandaughter spend half their time riding. You did good! Keep up the great work.
Dave

I know a farm hand who would love this. She's always searching for poetry about the western lifestyle.
Is it allright if I show this to her? Maybe it will inspire her a bit.

Come listen to mi story 'bout a dog named Stash, Nervous little twitch with a milk mustache...and then one day he was chasin all the cats...and out fr
