5582 Never Find Another ‘Ewe’ 04 August 2006 When sheep were white and snow was fresh to amount This woollen warmth to compound there was love in them there hills and the you, in you I had found For I would never find another ewe there was only one close to my heart This moment to pause in thought a love to blossom as unto spring For I'll never find another you that in itself seems so possible Because if love was meant to be this way there was never another you, ever to stay A heart at rest, every beat in tune just to watch a rainbow And know how it was best to end this love, a destination to ponder while another you, was within my heart to sing “There is always someone. For each of us they say And you'll be my someone. For ever and a day I could search the whole world over Until my life is through. But I know I'll never find another you” Lyrics: “I’ll Never Find Another You” (Tom Springfield) Performed by the Australian Folk Group “The Seekers” (Australia, 1965) Written by Tom Springfield, brother of Dusty Springfield (Mary O’Brien) While they both changed their last name to Springfield, at one time Tom and Dusty Springfield recorded and performed together as a group known as ‘The Springfield’s” before English born Dusty embarked on a solo career. © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
