For some reason, reaching out
to other humans,
is sometimes a near-impossible-act.

Chock it up to fear,
indifference,
snobbery perhaps;
call it what you will,
it is out there
on a scale that engulfs
the spirit of this planet...
the inability or lack of desire
to reach out,
grasp a hand,
simply say:

"I am human,
the same as you.
You have wants and needs,
I do too.
Our sameness sum is greater
than the total
of our differences."
