On every day the sun begins Someone walks without a friend Yet I'm proud to see the sky And buy a coffee looking high If there was a mystic way to live No ever came back to give I love the breath of gentle breeze Let it blow the peace we need. When the sky is dark And the world is grey And no-one believes a word that you say When the pain and humiliation Are more than you can bear Your heart the Lady said A trouble to no soul You landed lightly in her arms And if I may make so bold The world the Lady offers Is boon to any soul And gentle pastures beckon Before you are very old Pay in kind Pay in fear Pay in coin Pay in beer Pay with your life Pay with your thanks Why pay my man The burden is light For a heart as yours We don't need coin If you needed your heart Then we would join In a contract for your mind But your soul O do be kind You dont need promises of what might be The misty clouds for all too see You need certainty of the soul And life to let it become the whole And so alas To our world you come Where souls are counted By the sum |
