Listening to every heart

The Shattered Piece

I do not know enough
to spring wash this self
with salty runnels
other than it tears too much energy

and there is no time
for such selfish weakness;

I do not know enough
to delve into these following shadows
but only look to the ones ahead

for what is behind me
does not deserve regret,
but peace.

I do not know enough
not to dream, or to not believe in
imagination; nor will I lose hope
in human kind

not even when the bombs fall.

There is an answer, somewhere;
I do not know enough
to think
otherwise.

I only know enough
to let loose quiet salt trails
in memory
of you.

I only know enough to make
the attempt to spread smooth,
in some way,
the shattered peace.

sometimes it's hard to move on but we have no other choice if we know we have to...love this..I do..especially because it reflects my current situation

I can't tell you how this piece moves me....

...so I won't even try....but you know.

Shattered is a word one like you would never have to use, if the world were fair....if it returned to us a fair measure for what has been given...but as you know, and I know too, it does not.
