i was told stories of a time that were said and done before i had a name or face and had lessons sealed inside them that were learned from loves long lost. i saw a picture of a woman held in the highest light that's now sank so far below us and heard she spoke in tounges much like my own. our eyes burned bright, clean holes through glass where our chauffeur could not see the shine and our lips stretched thin and turned upwards tight knowing the past had begun to replay itself in us and that despite our consciousness we would continue on as the world's greatest actors reading scripts off pages that were torn from books other's had thrown to the fire. we were given our guise by the history we carry but were never aquainted with and now we can see how it was so easily shoveled over with sand and covered in dust to be unveiled only by a short breath and a breif scheme. well...let's live through our prime by the lines from long ago and make sure the old age we'll meet causes our bones to ache from breaks we'll get slipping on spilt milk and our lungs to heave heavy, exhausted from chortling loudly at the misfortune we escaped. |
