I don't care what the world says,
I'm not waiting
for the starter's gun to tell me when to go
now my eyes are sore
from running blindly into stray sunrays
taking the baiting
the hook in my heart to let me know
that I've wasted time waiting
before

Before
I was the shy boy struck down
I was only hoping to find deliverance in a girl
to travel the cosmos via her vicious gaze
among the stars I wanted to soar
but my every wonder was shot down
back I fall, smashing into the careless world
feels like falling in love again in so many ways

But I'm not waiting
not waiting anymore
not reinstating
the boy I was before
this man I'm gonna be now
will fly the sky somehow
a caped wonder to stun the city
to see the dawnlight so pretty
I'm not waiting, I've got to feel it now...right now

I'm not listening to the sound my heart makes

for the night to turn over to day to reinvent myself
to build up the defense of my soul
I've had enough of the pain of my many heartbreaks
erasing is so much easier than creating
and I've had my fill of imbibing medicine for my emotional health
it's now or never to grab a hold
stand alone in bitter cold

Cold calm composure
I need to steel my nerves and break through
to a new way of thinking my way out of sinking tonight
to swim the sea of possibility...possibly
deep in the blue depths of closure
of this worn out chapter of my life, time to start anew
'cause girls like a courageous guy who can see the light
that white light that shines inside in me

the wasted footsteps I walked before
