This softening cascade of times
shimmers, making ripples beneath
the warm surface,. The haze of history
vanishes and the illusion of the future
hangs expectantly - from here, horizons
stretch to certainty. There are no broken
bridges, no constellations of debris and
my eyes are clear at last, the veil is gone,
ripped apart by the festering wounds long held
and now healed.

The morning butter sun melts slowly
coating the landscape in promises
of cookies and coffee, warm soothing
redeeming, it fills me to my bones
and I am golden, mellow because of it.
The final ripples of the past sink into the
salty water, that was made up of tears
and the clear, clean, fresh water of the new
washes me. The sands are shaken and dirt falls
away, leaving me newborn.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown
