They say a tropical depression
is forming off the NC coast at this moment,
and I say...it cannot match
the one forming off the Oregon coast,
in my own livingroom as I sit,
silently stunned by the violence,
not of Nature's furies unleashed
but of so-called Humankind's
worldwide temper tantrums
with no believable trustworthy parent figures
able to work through the issues
without resorting to
additional layers of
threats and punishments.

I shall make like an ostrich today,
pretend I don't see it coming my way,
dig a deeper hole in terra firma
and cross my fingers and toes,
hold my nose so as not to breathe
the stench that is encircling the globe.

Let me know when it is safe
to come out of exile.

I'm sorry, Kacy, but I will not be able to tell you when it will be safe to come out because I am making like an ostrich myself! ~ buried deep in terra firma as well!

The storms that "humans" wage are the truly evil winds!

I never leave a poem of yours empty-handed!

You rock as a poet and as a human being!

Love you!

That about sums it up...

but darling girl,
you will NEVER adopt
an ostrich posture.

I know you better than that.

Thanks Sheli, what a kind sweet comment!
Kari, LOL, even if I should do it, it wouldn't stay there the whole day. Thanks for the feedback, m'lady.

How very true Kacy.
I enjoy your writing as you always tell it like it is.
Heart hugs~Nancy

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Aw, hugs and thanks, Nancy.
I know no other way to say it.
When I try to sugar coat reality,
all I get is a gooey mess
of nothingness.
And yet, I feel my words
are never quite there,
never wield the knock-out punch.

I have been waiting for you to say it Kacy, because you say it so well.

I have put on my feathers and buried my head too. Thank you so much.
