A little background on this one -- I wrote it a while back for a friend that I played a massive multiplayer online roleplay game with (mmorpg).His cleric character was always having to save my wizard because I played very recklessly *grins* and was always getting myself (and him) killed when I cast spells on something that was way too powerful for us .. so I wrote this after a particularly bad day of gaming (for him) to make him smile. **************************** Who Needs A Map? "A map?! Who needs a map?!" says He, "I wanted to show you ..umm .. this tree!" "I am not lost!! Just take my hand, I'm master traveller on sea and land." She links her arm in his to walk at his side Somatic in the lead, Soninu along for the ride A cleric and wizard, through Norrath they roam Unlikely companions, but completely at home And as they wander through the wood He tells her stories of his childhood "Why when I was a boy.." he always begins She rolls her eyes and hides the grin. She knows he'll continue on and on with his lessons Until something shiny grabs her attention She falls a little behind, his voice getting dimmer, Taking in her surroundings but wait .. what's that shimmer? She calls to him as she wanders away, "Hey, what's in here?Can I go in and play?" He knows before speaking it's already too late She's aggroed the zone and sealed her fate. Through her muffled giggles his voice breaks through "What the hell happened?!What did you do?!" She adjusts her halo and blinks innocently, "I was just picking flowers and THEY attacked ME!!" His brow arches slightly, not amused by her fun She laces her jboots, getting ready to run. "I didn't provoke them, I swear I did not! I just cast ice comet 'cause ...they looked kinda hot?" He stalks slowly forward, she inches away Stifling laughter as she thinks of something to say. "Would you believe that I was defending you, honey? um .. I had to, you see, they looked at me funny?" "It was just a mistake?" her mind's in a whirl "did i mention they said you hit like a girl?" Her laughter peals out, and before she can spin 'round He roars like a lion, tackling her to the ground He growls and swats her and she hugs him so tight "Now can we continue without you causing a riot?" She ponders the question, with mischief in her eyes. "Of course, honeybunny, I won't leave your side." She takes his hand with a sly grin as they rise Whistling innocently, looking up at the sky "So where are we going?" she asks with a smile. He says, "We're heading west, for just a while." She says, "Hey, I have a map with me." "A map?! Who needs a map?!" says He. He pauses to look from east to west. She sees something shiny.... and begins to cast. Sheli 2005 |
