Heeeeere's Wilson
~*Marge Tindal*~

We hadn't a clue what to name him
when this turtle idea came to be
But it became quickly clear
that he was taking up space
reserved for me~

As Bill set about carving
his vision quickly grew
In a flash the name came to me
I knew what I must do~

So, I named the rascal 'Wilson'
for it surely came to me
the cutest name on the planet
for the critter that was to be~

'Wilson' it is, I smiled,
while my Bill quickly agreed
The charisma of this turtle
is unbelievable, you see~

His shell is of a Walnut Burl
His legs and tail fit just so
Magnolia eyes that realize
he has Macassar Ebony toes~

He's making his mark in our world
viewed with fits of laughter and glee
Golly, how did we ever do without him
(now what will we do WITH him ?)
for he is so HUGE, you see~

This turtle named 'Wilson'
leaves me lacking for a rhyme
to give him a poetic rhyming name ...
so, 'Wilson' will have to do just fine~

OH I LOVE WILSON!!!
Now I understand more what a carver does with a burl,
like my tree 'old gnarly' has all over him.
And, Wilson's ebony toes!!!  Unbelievable!

Bill did a marvelous job carving him.
Yes, Wilson is very special indeed.
Your poetic verse describes him extremely well.

Can you give us an idea of how tall he is Marge?

~Hugs & Love, Nancy~

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Thanks, gals~
'Wilson' is as solid as they come~

He stands 20" tall.
He is 12" wide.
He is 22" long. (head to end of shell)
He weighs in at 32 pounds~

He's definitely UNIQUE~
He's just got personality PLUS~

I just love sharing these little talented pieces with you all~

Hurray for Wilson! He's one of those things that adds so much character to a home that you just can't toss him out. Andy and I have a glass hummingbird that looks more like a mosquito, and I was going to get rid of it, but Andy said, "But he's like part of the family now!" So we hung on to it. Perhaps our hummingbird is acquainted with Wilson?

Dear Marge:  Wilson is a fantastic creature!
I had to write a poem about him!

Walnut Wilson

Created by a master's hand.
The finest turtle in the land!
From his head down to his toes,
Every line of Wilson shows,
Artistic talent to a "T"!
I wish that he belonged to me!
I always wanted one like this
And now I've seen him, I will miss
His presence in my life each day,
Fate has taken him away
To live in Florida and be
A star in Bill Haight's gallery!

Thank you for sharing! I love this turtle!

Love
Betty Lou

lol, Wilson is cute, and will probably work as a sentry to protect you from an alligator attack, especially if he is a snapping turtle

nice carving, great whimsy
no need to rhyme this time

I could have sworn I replied to this earlier. But, I don't see my reply anywhere. So, I guess I just thought I did.
Marge, your Bill is so talented. This is fantastic.

Wilson looks a little confused by all the fuss. Was he just born? He is a darling. Bill does wonderful work. Thank you Marge.

I love the way you wrap your talents together.  Betty Lou's poem is so cute, too.
If only Wilson could enjoy all this fuss!
