This is a portrait of a dear colleague who is beside herself with worry because her husband is poorly, yet to survive she has to carry on being head of an immense English department and she's so sweet her subordinates walk all over her.. She's out of her depth basically, poor thing. The Head of Things. Some live so mild that you wonder if the breeze Might carry them off and shake them from the trees; And night shades the rest from daily toil, In repose, when She burns the midnight oil. Please Miss, Please Miss, the clamour rings For dearest Ellen, the Head of things. Who was born for this, an endless round Like nightingales, nursing the lost and found? Dear Beau, I've been reading the last few days, and must admit, your heart is large. I've been enjoying your portrait of pals... continue on, please... |

Tomorrow... they bust me for sending three already, but I can only remember sending this one.. The other two were transfers from Crit, Insights, Spirit World and so forth. If you can find Somebody's Child, you might enjoy it as well. It was 15th in Crit # 2. (I don't think they like it much, too old fashioned) |

"Who was born for this" I guess many people ask themselves that. Enjoyed the read - thanks. |
