I can hear your desperation over a thousand miles The incessant whining about the insignificant Cries for attention, grating on my nerves. You ask me why I'm distant. "Your imagination," I reply. You ask if you're losing me. I can't yet say the words, "baby, I'm already gone." You can't go forward, can't go back. you're reaching out for me now, only shadows in your grasp Too little, much too late I know you feel the distance The chill between us You keep asking questions, ignoring the answers there between the lines. all thats left of me here is a fading apparition In time the mists that cloud your vision will lift from before your eyes. will you be surprised when you realize Baby, I'm already gone. |

... but I am glad you are here. I like this a lot - think I remember you showing it to me long ago. I loved it then and do now. It stood the test of time. Love, aziza |

I can't yet say the words, "baby, I'm already gone." Oh Sheli... that's between a rock and a hard spot. If this is an old poem I would imagine you're unstuck by now. Makes for a wonderful poem. |

Broken - thank you for reading I struggled with that line, it was the best I could think of to describe the feeling *smiles* Lady - yep, I'm unstuck now, but I sure was stuck then. Couldn't figure out how to tell him he no longer had a home here -- this poem was my way of doing it. James - 'tis sad, but true. Sadder when the other person doesn't realize it's just a shell that remains. Thanks for reading ~*Sheli*~ By words the mind is winged |
