TONAL TOMATO NUMBER LOST IN ME SPLASHED MERGER OLDUS 55
5 December 2000

Twinkle, tinkle,
jingle, ring,
whoooosh,
splutter,
splash,
squawk,
trouble, rubble, squabble, wobble, literary, wittery, squittery,
triller, filler, spiller, willer, tiller, tumble, rumble,
ming, mang, mong,
uppity, duppity, serendy, dippity,
whether you will
or
whether you won’t,
cool flow,
low, slow,
- hush,
no blow,
jiggle,
trickle,
tickle,
pebbled rivulet,
mellifluous peace,
suppose,
how many ,
dappled green,
so old,
filtered gold,
tiny twitters,
darting flitters,
fluttering,
flying,
soaring,
gliding,
floating,
sleeping,
slipping,
lost,
soft cloud,
sun-swathed,
blue dream.

Giggles, Sheli.  No, I'm not smoking anything, nor was I having a bad week in December 2000.  There is a perfectly logical explanation . . . but I will keep you guessing a while longer . . .  (grins slyly).

Oh my I feel like I'm tumbling down a hill.
What a fun read...can't wait to hear the explanation.

Diana

Where did you get this?  Sounds to me like you were having a really good time with the dictionary of fun.

I have to tell you it feels like my daydreaming under a tree then drifting off to sleep   I too can't wait to hear your sequential explanation of word play on this one.

I dunno what it means -- but I do know that I really love this.  It's my kind of poetry.

Thank you.

Smiles and thanks to all of you.  I won't keep you in suspenders (especially Krawdad, as you wouldn't look good in suspenders!) any longer.

This came from tone poems (music) that my "tree" boy-friend (about whom "Hands" was written) used to write.  His tone poems were composed for and played on the piano.  Tone poems (he told me) are pieces of music that are written to describe something.

Mine below is in the form of a poem with words instead of music.

Tonal Tomato Number Lost in Me Splashed  Merger Oldus 55 = Tonal Sonata Number (whatever - the number is "lost") in B Flat Major Opus 55 (I was 55 at the time I wrote it).

suppose = repose
how many = harmony

The sounds in my poem are meant to flow into each other like a rivulet into a thought-river into the flight of a bird into a dream-cloud in a blue sky.

Thanks, aziza.  I couldnt' see your reply for quite a while - not even on Print - although I knew you had replied because I got a notification of it.

Thanks again, Sheli.  Glad you enjoyed the explanation.

Thank you, Kate.  It is certainly the only way I could ever compose music!
