5507 Where Sanity and Insane Meet 03 July 2006 Now to know your name your beauty, and of class To reach out and ponder this beauty you have to adore Of spirits touching hearts clutching a net Strands of cotton entangled upon a thread Now to know, what this all stands for heaven and holly, Christmas time in giving Reaching out, to taste the fruit of each berry Some more of compassion, others not as bitter sweet Where this Canaan was a land of “hope” a faithful being, to this charity of cause A Commonwealth, richness in heart to deliver Where kindness and above all, sanity and insane meet “Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives.” William Dement, in Newsweek, 1959 (born 1928), a pioneer of sleep researcher, and founder of the world’s first sleep laboratory at Stanford University, USA. He was a leading authority on sleep, sleep deprivation, and the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
