Once Upon a Forbidden Time 6-29-06 Beneath the darkening sky One roams freely Tasting the night’s breath upon the wind Darkness surrounds thy heart and enfolds thy mind Bearing true the blades of discord Take thy devilish tricks and plunder thyself no more Begin the arduous trek of self sufficiency Wait for the coming of the dawn Trade thy sinuous soul and speak no longer Fight ferociously and seek solitude in the night Comfort thy self with broken promises and whispered lies Spring thy trap given freely by one’s own true color Deception is evident when obscured by thy conscious Invisibility covers not the truth of thy existence Thrive upon one’s easily obtained fire And live to haunt those who remain ignorant of thy trade For once upon a forbidden time Thy did not live strong Defiance was apparent in what space thy occupies Presently thy strength sings and sores throughout thy darkness So sing loud and attempt thy ploys For thy shall not take thy self downward Not to where thou has already explored |

Sorry I didn't see this sooner... It read to me like Braveheart, fighting on the Moors. You captured that spirit precisely in the tone and cadence of this write. TD |

I agree with TD. There is that feel about it. Nicely done. |
