COUNT THE CLOUDS 29 March 2006 In and out the dusty bluebells . . . hopping and skipping (no wonder they’re dusty) backwards and forwards amongst the knights’ steeds and the solemn bishops, tag, you’re it and now it’s you and the marionettes go this way and that knowing it will all end unresolved for both . . . - Owl |

Thank you Greeneyes. Yes it is, literally and emotionally. Your response reminded me of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry saying that the Little Prince must have been very sad the day he moved his chair to view 44 (was it 44?) sunsets. - Owl |

Pensive and oh, so, well written, Diana. We could learn all we need to know of life in your work. |

Dixie, what a kind comment! I feel very honoured indeed! You have no idea how well-timed it was! Thank you. I hope all is well with your daughter. Yes, sadly so, Helen. Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. - Owl |

So you know, I'm afraid to sound like an idiot. So you know, my first comment on this site was a total goofup. I read the poem, made my comment, then read the poem again and realized that I totally missed the point of a piece. So my comment looked very intelligent haha. Anyhow, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that your poem reminded me of a very beautiful game of chess. I love the idea of throwing up dust on blue bells. Very pretty. *CaRi* |

Thank you Cari. Never be afraid to make mistakes or say you don't understand. I am an ex-schoolteacher, and I admitted mistakes or not understanding to my pupils when it was true and they respected me for it. Yes, playing games was the point of my poem. Chess was just one of them. When I was a very young child, there was a game we played where we skipped in and out a circle of children to words I forget, except for "in and out the dusty bluebells". Then Tag is another game. Manipulating puppets is another. The poem was about a man who was playing games with me. I played back for a while, before wisely withdrawing when I saw that neither of us would win, neither together (a Win/Win solution, as I had hoped), nor seperately. Thank you Nancy. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. - Owl |

Diana.... perhaps it is the difference between your venacular, and mine; but I enjoyed the skip between yard and zones, knowing that everything we do is a game of chance; a war of right, and rite... You are a very talented woman... please, never stop writing. |

Wow, Karilea! That is such an honour, coming from one as talented as you! Thank you! I am trying not to be embarassed (especially after what I said to Cari) by the fact that I don't understand what you mean by the skip between "yard and zones" and I'd love to know. - Owl |
