Barefoot in Long, Soft Grass This place A monarchy, of lavender and sage Grows high with delight, spirit sighs to the page Where the clover lush two, both of orchid and white Honey Bells filled with dew left by courtesy night Every turn a revival of thoughts planted deep Waiting patiently, hope like a sun tea in steep To stretch out by the dreams each in turn recollect From display, handled gently, every one circumspect On my side by the wellspring, fingers folly and play To imbibe of the heart-songs nature brews each new day Some blossoms I gather, some that grow on their own Lost in hours of tending, ramble, bramble windblown On a carpet fulfilling, looking out far and wide All this place brings to silence, rooted deeply inside Copyright Kkh 6/24/06 |

quote: Achingly beautiful, dear TD! ... oh, and I love provolone ... but not too much the wine. But when we find the source of silence within we are likely to receive food of a different nature! Love, Margherita |

I think that this poem is good indeed. It has a double rhyme in it which adds do the flow. I think that if anyone can use a double rhyme scheme and make it work without flaw they get two thumbs up, I think u handled it flawlessly but still only 1 1/2 thumbs...good job...keep writing...elevation is the key...7.75/10 Return the favor on: Swear to God |

Oh, how lovely ~ This brought back two distinct memories. One is of open hilly fields.... rolling down the grassy hill clutched tightly to another, rolling over and over, giggling and laughing, tears rolling down the cheeks. The other, a quiet little glen, kind of hidden from every outside view, found while on one of my wanderings. I just sat down on a log and let the tears flow freely. All alone and crying for the beauty of it. Thank you, martyjo |

Kathleen, I read this earlier to day and was most impressed. Wanted to come back and read it again; if I were an artist, this surely would be a landscape worth painting! *hugs*....jo |
