you were always stretched too thin heartskin even thinner than the bones you dangled before me languidly after sunset fell and you said your heart was born in hell and it was true you were always under the high water marks of the damned but I loved you if only for one moment and knew I was drowning so I pulled the plug, saw you go out with the tide that never returned |
