**Dedicated to all the mother's who have lived through this** Blessed with a child I am called a mother What was I before? I was a daughter I was sister I may have even been an aunt But for you, I was Mother I can’t explain the pain I feel Nor can I explain the joy You have filled my heart with pride And left it broken before the Lord I was blessed to watch you grow Each day stronger than the last You left my arms to enter the world And now your life has passed Why couldn’t I go before you? Why must I stay behind? I know you will be there waiting For the day we reunite You may be gone from here But you’ve never left my heart And though this Mother’s Day, for me, isn’t happy I know, with Jesus, you are Rest well my child I shall see you soon Written by Lyn Eagleton May 7, 2005 (MWilson) |
