Curb Your Romanticism
Off you went off the handle I'm sent lonesome shaking hell that's my decoder ring found in specially marked packages of crying for my hilarious history with women crashing like cars into dark empty bars
Here I am here I always am lonely and surrounded by all these old records my hands heavy with the love for her I've meekly carried through these years crumbling like dirt got my heart hurt
Always I tell myself, curb your romanticism don't flinch, make the incision and grasp at your heart make a decision regarding whether or not your lifeless art even matters anymore
There we go a band-aid even though the wounds heal themselves in the dusty books on the shelves next to the sun's rising her smile weighing heavily on poor pitiful me kicking and screaming sick pleasant dreaming
Always I yell at myself, curb your romanticism don't care for an exorcism 'cause I like the company demons have risen and taken permanent residence in the haunted mansions of me everyone's invited, I'm sure
Oh there you go sweet redhead in blue taking me down to my bare bones oh you always knew the dead sound of a dialtone would leave me feeling low down low such sick pleasant dreaming oh me, such is beaming like a beacon
So off I go into the colorless rainbow to paint it back to blue there you go, there's my sighs found in a specially marked woman's eyes what a funny love I devote to you smashing the stars covering up scars
And always it's my inner self that can't curb this romanticism fumbling into a cataclysm 'cause I needed the attention and a little baptism to ensure whether or not my swelling heart even matters anymore and Alyson's at my door wanting more...

"So off I go into the colorless rainbow to paint it back to blue"
~ Oh, no! A heart as romantic as yours should be bathed in all the glorious colours of the rainbow!

Someone just told me last week that that their problem was putting women on pedestals. That's what your poem made me think about it. I'll tell you what I wanted to tell him -- just pick the right one to put there. Very well expressed and please don't lose your romanticism! ...jo

Reminds me of some relationships where I realized that I was interested mostly in the outer shell...James

just goes to show you, regardless of the romanticism, its always best to slow down, allow both to take the time to get to know one another...safer on the heart, allowing time for each other to decide if you have more in common...
wonderful and wise write
