It is almost like you died of cancer
the cells slowly took over.
I couldn’t understand.
What was happening to my best friend?

Times definition erased
It just slowly stretched on
the tumor growing bigger,
Our contact divided
by a sea of your fake reality.

Psychosis?
No, that is too simple an escape.
You are so difficult.
How can I use cancer as a metaphor,
when being forgotten is nothing like a disease.

The New Year passed and with it something new
I know me but I don’t have you...
or us.
We were one person
How can a person live when they are split in two?

A heated conversation,
the scalpel made the incision.
It unleashed your two faced demon,
and my hurt but hopeful heart.

I am not properly stitched up,
my wounds won’t seal.
The scabs keep tearing,
With each old memory emerging…

Do you remember
Green face paint, blue eye shadow, white wine,
a simple lullaby, black hair, crimson lips,
My voice in your ear, twirling dresses,
camera lenses, stupid boys,
and Hollywood kisses?

I know is not the happiest of subjects but so many us lose people to cancer and the aftermath and it seems to becoming greater.

Two people out of the last six months that I have known or related to, have died from the effects of cancer.

We now have drugs to prolong people with Aids for years but cancer after operations or chemo - get three years

Yes I can enfuse
