A roof covered me then, when rains seldom fell and winds whistled lazily through open meadows of a mind cascading down a waterfall. But, now the shadow’s darkness no longer crawls across the floor, resting lazily upon the open hearth of my yearning... Why, I ask stubbornly? Why must the moon rise and rest upon the shoulder of a lonely heart? Why must the warm glow of yesterday’s sun crease the forehead of tomorrow and whisper softly as the bells of passionate wait chime beyond a distant knoll. Could you ever know, sense the pine of my lips, pursed beyond the resemblance of a kiss in wait? Could you? For I must cry out, releasing the prisoner of me that stands against the bars of wrought bewilderment...awaiting the moment when a key turns within my heart.....releasing me ....... for you. I can picture rain and a waterfall in my head. I can also picture a man waiting for the woman of his dreams to come along and kiss him bringing him back to the here and now. This is a very moving piece of work. Anne Shiever |

This one has my muse's voice whispering an echo, but I can't make out the words. LOL, BJ, I guess I should just say, someday I'll come back to this one when I can translate the whisper words that are muffled tonight. Saving it. ....jo |

After reading this, I have to ask--do you paint by any chance? Not that you would need to when you can write like this, but it surely indicates an artist's eye. |

I am asking myself (I hesitate to ask you for fear of intruding) whether the release you refer to is death or courage (meaning the courage to contact her again). Beautiful poem, Magnus. I enjoy every one of the poems of yours that I have come across. - Owl |

To me the release is a release from past demons that allow one to open up to love... Wonderful Barry! "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |

Ser....No, I don't paint..other than in my head where I see what I write. LeeJ...pleased this has aroused your curiousity... Susan, Diana..... Hard to explain.... the bondage is a mental bondage, mostly a courage issue, a lack of self confidence to jump out of the mental cell and become involved with the lady of his thoughts... The release is a personal thing....getting HIS actions to release him from the mental cell that he occupies... I write this way frequently...I think it is because love was a very elusive thing for me as a boy and young man...and I had to overcome obstacles that kept me away from that which I loved. Sorta like Dustin Hoffman.... |

Thanks for the explanation, Magnus. I agree with Corinne. How could she possibly resist you? Perhaps you should take the bull by the horns - perhaps you will find that the bull will show you a kind eye - and perhaps things will be a lot better with you and her than you imagine. If not, at least you will know. It is a terrible pity for you (and her) to miss out on what you could have, for want of trying. - Owl |

There is so much movement of the spirit in "open meadows of a mind cascading down waterfalls." Enchanting imagery expressed in bells of passionate wait, and sorrow in "bars wrought of bewilderment" A beautifully strong poem! ~ Karen ~ |
