Morning is going, Left behind with sun's zenith, The wind is blowing, Catching brown leaves as it shifts, Soon the day will go Before I can reach shelter, The coldness will grow As we're deep into winter. Raven Fly far away Over the horizon Before I can climb this hilltop You’re gone from sight Away Trees standing here stark, Raped by the cold winter wind, To its force they bend, Yet bending is not enough For the wind is rough Breaking branches not giving, Sever from living, Hear the crack in the wind's sound, Then crash to the ground. Storm clouds gather with the dark. I gather also As I go, Bits of trees Felled by a strong breeze, And carrying Yet not long tarrying As I walk In the growing dark. Soon the dark has grown too deep, And the long journey makes me wish for sleep, I make a ring of some stones, Burning a cairn of the trees severed bones. For heat releasing their warm summer day, As falling snow and flames play. Bundled in my cloak, The wet fire makes much smoke, Behind my warm scarf I cough And I choke With a stick I poke And stir The fire Hoping to keep welcomed warm Beneath snowflake swarm; But once great fire Does expire And chill white still fall Until this winter blanket covers all. No fire and no moonlight Pierces through this dark and consuming night; Soon all is well covered by unseen white, Soon, very soon, all slips from sight. Gloom |

This seemed a bit different for you, longer than most. Which is a good thing. There were so many fantastic lines.. One of my favorites from you.. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |
