what's the deal with long conversations

to my consternation

i'm never able to have them with girls i like

no matter how far i hike

to find the right verbs and nouns

to astound

the soulmate i found

one day when i was walking around

now i'm "On Deadly Ground"

trying to find a way to make a sound

that can be heard by her in her town

i know she can't hear me, so i'm usually down

and out

of my mind with jealousy about

other guys who i know shout

to her on a daily basis

while i exist in stasis

unable to have any impact

that could attract

her to my soul

i'll probably grow old

never seeing her again

knowing that some other guy gets to win

her heart

all i get to do is use the art

of rhyming to keep from falling apart

but it's not enough to ease my mind

i'm just too far behind

in the game

love,

howard

Nicely done Howard. Girls feel like that too.
