Drew a line the other day it wasn't straight maybe the weather crooked pencil wrinkled page the lead wept more turf to smear Drew a line on today's sunrise it went to the horizon vision stopped perspective pointed golden rays the lead cried for turf more paper to mark Drew a line tomorrows line to rest graveyard shift bodies dropped plumb straight darkened depths the lead sobbed for cover stole the light earth buried man his chartered courses on crooked creases. |
