Tightening of her Corset |

I’m lacing up my corset Tightening it from the waist. No butterflies will free themselves; Fabric’s hold will see to that! Emotion will not on my face be placed. On my face, it will not be placed. I have lowered evening shades So in privacy I dress Dimmed the light, she fades back in As the silent reels regress To first love’s commitment, To it, how shall I address? I had promised him my shoulders That they would sponge his hurt. I had promised him forever… Of him today, I dare not see or flirt. I promised him from deepest gut To forever sponge his hurt I’ve all but laced my corset I’ve only to tie the bow. This corset’s done its job and dammed The flow of tearing stow I’ve only to tie the bow. Emotion will not on my face be placed. On my face, it will not be placed. ~cathy~ (Today, I found a very dear woman had died, one who I have loved throughout the years. She was the mother of my first love. Now, I am happily married and so is he, but to different persons. The compassion in me wants to lend a shoulder, but logic tells me "No".Just gotta tighten that corset sometimes.) Doubly sad it is....to want to give, and have to withold. I think everyone's been there in one way or another....but company doesn't make the misery any less. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Perhaps you must withhold the shoulder... which makes that corset necessary. *S* But maybe that doesn't mean you can't express your sympathy... unless his spouse or yours is permanently green-tinged, you could send a card? *S* Or not. *S* But I just know how much words helped me through the loss of my Dad... knowing he was beloved by others and will live on in their memories really was a comfort... a reminder that however great my loss, he's not completely gone. *S* All of which addresses the quandary and not the poem. *S* And it's excellent! *S* |

It must be very difficult for you to keep your distance at such a time. You expressed those feelings very well. Linda |
