Some reluctance at first in ones' stride shows they've aged, more content just to rest by a warm fireside, yet, there beckons a world, clouds as omens presaged, crystal purity blankets this whole valley wide. Layered garb, donned in stealth, as some sleep undisturbed. Quiet steps cross the threshold where snow's drifted deep, hiding walk to the house from the door to the curb, let it stay for we've other appointments to keep. Just for now, let us head to the neighboring wood, draped in contrasts of white, Winters' formal display, while the airs' chilling touch works its' spell like it should, freezing out certain things, melting others away. Countless years, aches and pains of a lifetimes' affairs, left behind as we tread this familiar terrain, catching glimpses of sprites through the trees, unaware, that some vestige of youths' sense of wonder remains. In these eyes, that have seen many winters before, lives the spark that's attuned to such simple delights. Here, in Nature, her seasons , the myths and the lore, that of which she calls some of her children to write. In the absense of sound, Winters' calm, one can hear words like snow filtering down from her breath to your ears. |

Doc....Thank you for this. I have never lived in snow, or spent much time in it at all. This helps me to know what it's like to walk on a snow day with someone special. |
