Perched bare chest and aloof Last days of abandon thought Sipping at my lip The ribbon in my hair Fallen, pink Limp with usage Tickles, just barely The long narrow of my neck That girl whose favorite book I stole, has beckoned The pictures of stories told Treasures of people she once knew Carefree, unbound traveling Upon a whim, a laugh Not a cackle Bathes me, taking my innocence Wrapping it tightly And dispersing it into The echo Of this room Shuddering, quirky and unnerved I call you again The shrill, mocking my needs Tells me five times you are gone So I leave you Without saying goodbye |

An interesting poem that starts out happy and ends kind of curiously. Starts of innocent and ends maybe not so. Very interesting poem. Sheri Adams Jesus lives in my heart! He can in yours too!!! |
