In the beginning
God created the end and
So came beginnings

Dear Seymour,

Your words are the essence of Hebrew thought.  Their new day begins at sunset. They claim the end is the beginning, conclusions are springboards to something new.  They never defined perfection as the ancient Greeks did in the form of a circle.  Their idea was simply a straight line that is open ended. The ancients put the golden age in the past, while the Hebrews put it at the end of history.  They saw perfection as the "best is yet to come", though we may have it rough in the going.

Great short summary of their thinking.

We must have an ending to have a beginning. Wise words Sy. I enjoyed them greatly.
