When When thoughts can bring a rain of tears And sophistry explain your pears Then we have faltered in our goal And added nothing to our soul When words bring naught but thought distain And war has caught the minds insane We cannot bring the earths release And stop the war in lease of peace How many lives must feed the mill? To bring about a common will And how much time the core to buy To bring about this butterfly And each of us awaits the day This butterfly will fly away To settle on a flowers grace And fall into that time and place And so I ask for common will To pay the common of the bill |
