Out in your yard You see a whole in the side near the house You walk over and look inside Put your hand in the whole Drive it down to the bottom scraping Getting wet dirt underneath your fingernails Scoop out the dirt that you have in your hand Look at the clumps of the dark brown and reddish Putting your hand back in the whole Now scrape your hand on the side There is a rock so real that it hurt your hand And you try to pull it out You tug it back and forth Pulling it out straight from the dirt You look at it in achievement It’s much longer than you felt it to be Now toss the bolder away You’re looking in the whole It is as deep as the victimized soul Take it out your flower and fill in the void The whole has been filled without money or sin The perfect planting A summer day |

Grinning here, as I loved the imagery. But shouldn't it read 'hole' not whole? |

all that dirt under the nails is not a cool thing, but the message you give us is crystal clear!!! |

I actually felt the rock on my hands and nails. Nice work! |
