The Fower Lady Stands (for Martie)

The flower lady has withstood a winter:
This poem, these words nuzzle-she stands;
Dew is tears of joy on hugged and hugger.

Others wait their turn to make connection,
And like Bloodroots folding digit leaves
They clasp their hands in thankful prayer.

Only a little wobbly, Ford...like tremble of petal in breeze. Soon the core of my bloom will open to spring.

Wobbly is certainly understandable, dear friend...

I don't think there are any wild bloodroot in California...Don't know if you know this plant, but it is my favorite native wild flower.

Like you, their petals sometimes tremble in the wind. It is soon to bloom here in Pa. When I see one I will think of you..

slowly swells full bud.
