Some Paths

Some paths are like a thorny rose
Those thwart the hand and please the nose
They victimize the eyes in hue
And prick some blood for payment due

Some paths are lit with stars of bright
Those light the wonders of the night
That holds you in a trance of chance
The nuance of a fiddlers dance

The music plays the beat of leaves
That titillates the heart in tease
And magnifies the senses high
In sate that heaves the sound of sigh

I’ve wondered down this road of yellow
And touched the bare of fair and mellow
With payment of a piece of soul
A tuppence for this piece of goal

And still this old man walks in vie
With still a twinkle in his eye

This one is not as good as an earlier one I read
The flow is not the same and the rhyme feels forced

I am sure others will love your writing, only I felt I would give my honest view point

Seymour

In a way I can be sorry for being so harsh in my comments above

and I know you have posted a lot of poetry on this site and made many good friendships

Sure in many cases, the sharing with others is a personal part and should be given credit

If I showed you my own poems from the year 2000, or even those going back perhaps only 18 months ago, many are not as good as they could be

I have seen a progress in my own writing, in just the last 12 months because of interaction with fellow poets over the world wide web

When I am not sure what I am saying here, except I know you have talent and a good mind

some days may not quite workout and I am lucky that these days I can whack out a poem in two to three minutes and move on to the next without much of a correction or edit

I realize what comes natural to me and is self taught does not work for everyone that same way

Gather the rosebuds while ye may.... LOL

Sy, that twinkle will withstand many a vivid hue, and I'm betting the blooms are worth the thorns and then some!

many paths...
I choose the one with less drama these days

your poem started me thinking Sy
that's what good poetry does

Seymour, your poetry is always so beautiful. You are one of the best poets, I know. I always enjoy reading your poetry. I am glad you have that twinkle in your eye.

Sy,
When we wear those glasses of rose,
It matters not which path we chose.
Each path has much to offer
And adds much to the coffer.

LOL
I sure don't like bumps in the road and have adopted the theory that silence is golden, though at times, it's real hard to hold the tongue

I love everything you write...always have...always will

Dear "See More"

"Some paths are like a thorny rose
Those thwart the hand and please the nose"

I have walked these paths many times.

I see your paths in this poem but there are writers on this site who have no paths, wandering in a jungle of words with no compass and no sense of direction.  To use a biblical term, they are lost!

Most of us here, long time or short realize good caring poetry when we read it...

You are always of good form...a not so easy thing to do.

Love reading you and miss it when you are not with us.

Thank you for your consistancy.

M

p.s. it's not the timing of creating that makes a poet enjoyable to read...it's the content and intent of which you have both.
Always and again

My pleasure to see you here, thank you.

BROTHER JOHN
If they are lost they will be recycled as we and it will all work out in the end. Thank you my brother.

Maureen,
You have always been a favorite of mine.

There's clearly heart in your path Sy. Wonderful, though provoking poem.

I am taking the heart path and I do hear the harps playing. But they are confined to my dreams. Thank you
