This is another poem under construction, as all mine are. I invite you to help me improve it.

Silence Speaks Loudly

`Twas written by the wise in times of old
That the stilled fleshly sheathed tongue loudly speaks;
And silence echoes midst the mountain peaks
With words not said, yet many ways retold!
Between each line, each word and surd untold,
"Thoughts" boldly speak which hide near rosy cheeks
And quietly fly.The unsaid then streaks
Across the way far from its minded mold!

Life's earthly travels bring us face to face
And with embroided words. We stitch each thread
Defining selves with speech of proper grace.

The heart hears better from the fountain's head
And what's afire between each surd's embrace
Doth kindle hearths aflame by what's unsaid!

"fleshly sheathed"? perhaps freshly was intended. "surd" now thats a word i had to look up, made me think.

How happy I am to have seen this one.  Nicely done.  Silence can be very loud and clear, while words becomes babble.

I have learned the language of silence myself

sometimes it's harsher than words

Dear Time,

Thank you for reading this and your comments.

I used the world fleshly as an adjective to tongue.  It may be redundant since the tongue is flesh. However, this simply is a poetic means of expression.  I hope this helps clear up what I meant.

Blessings on you my fellow traveler!!!

Dear Sand,

Thank you for your kind remarks. Silence maybe good or bad. The context will determine this as you know.  Too, words can be very deceiving as you know.   So it goes both ways.

Thanks for your time.

Dear Passing Shadows,

You have blessed me with your presence. Yes, silence may work in many ways.  I think of the times I have been around people who were in deep hurt.  They were beyond crying, and words.  Just sitting with them in silence and maybe the touch of the hand or embrace, too, spoke from heart to heart and WOW, this is clearly heard and helps the wounded soul heal.

The riches blessings of live continue to rest upon you and give you peace!!!

Brother,

Perhaps I looked no further than my nose and should have delved further. Thank you for the explanation.
