The last time I saw Paris, rain had painted her in hues of gray and all the colors in the slate danced the dolors like a grave of a slab so new I knew that sins were debts of settling like pockets of the air in dirt sinking dirges in the fog... The last time I saw Paris, I had taken meds to ease my mind. I thought I saw the Vatican but realized I drank the grog and Rome is a reality in ruins and the aquaduct was something that I did observe as I was observed as nuts-- wrestling the lioness "the patient has endured duress" I watched with some impatience write that thinking "oy--redundances" proper plural latin freed of everything I thought I'd need, in a bag across my knees stroking a good dawg who slept as if he had no need to pee waiting most complacently-- the last time I saw Paris was on a bridge across a swamp the sun was red and screaming mean things to me as if I ought tremble at the very thought of the bottoms hard beneath as I contemplated leaps of consciousness and what I need is nothing more than simple sips of water and forgiven greed of all the vague necessities that I left behind and these: colons and the commas, stripe the last time I saw Paris, I damned near died for it. |

The last time I saw Paris I was lost, in a wine bottle, and should have been in Brussels. |

"the last time I saw Paris, I damned near died for it." Those last lines are really hard hitting. The last time I saw Paris was with a husband I no longer wanted. Always a treat to read you. |

I could not be more relieved that your travelling days are over lady. That was one heck of a write though Lady K. If I told you about the last time I saw Paris, I'd be moved to adult. |

The last time I saw Paris I had my sleeping bag stretched out on the Left Bank with Notre Dame towering above me and I thought I had finally found heaven on earth..... ....but we're not really speaking of Paris here, are we? |
