I Lied

do you remember
that day at the beach
that we sat together
and you were rambling
on and on about her
then you ask me
if I loved you
I lied
I excused myself
as you greedily over filled
your plate not recognizing
as the tears welled in my throat
that I am dinner as well
as dessert

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

Touching...and vulnerable...but i enjoyed how you presented it..like from nowhere?..Like you may have seen something from that time that suddenly brought it rushing to the surface???...Thank you for your words...
