The Missing Of

I am missing the voice,
if nothing else
the one
that often guides my spirit.
And though I am capable
of self-guidance
everything tastes better
when shared.

I am missing the presence,
if only
for its touch.
Not wearing lonely
too well
though the sheerness
of thought
often helps.

I am missing the missing of
as I lean on yesterday,
cloaking myself in tranquility
while waiting
for the missing
to fade back
into real.

M

Yes, missing hurts.  You depicted it well.  Hope this is an old poem.  You seem to have been so happy recently.

~ Yes, there be times in our life when all we have to keep us warm, are the memories. You may not wear lonely well, but you sure as heck can write it!

Warm, understanding hug,

OWL, I am basically a happy person...just writing thoughts that occur mostly in the morning hours.

I am doing "ok"...though the gas costs are putting a "crunch" on enjoying life.

I write happy when sad and sad when happy and sometimes neither...
and am as "ok" as one can be.   Thanks for the concern.

Linda...

Had to smile at your response to Owl...I do the same...sometimes it's just an exercise in if I can write a certain feeling without feeling it at the time..

it's just a need to write.

and you are very good at it M.

Susan, just an exercize to show I am alive and well and sometimes I am inspired by others' words.

Dave, thank you for such a nice compliment. There usually is a hidden meaning behind my words...
