anger was born alone on the edge of the desert deep in the sand it heaved itself upward gained purchase on the wind reeled itself into wrath dust devil traveling at wild horse speed gathering grains of disgust tumbleweeds of desolation a hot and loathesome thing it moved across the desert seeking its own release you were in the way it lifted you into its feverish center drove a twig deep into your heart dumped you and swept mindlessly on I never saw you again A grain of poetry suffices to season a century. |

"you were in the way it lifted you into its feverish center drove a twig deep into your heart dumped you and swept mindlessly on I never saw you again" and that is probably a very good thing...if it's powerful enough to sweep, stab, and dump it's probably good you didn't get swept up in it.. nicely done!! Kate~ This is as powerful a penning as I've ever read~ I easily could quote the all of it as my favorite parts ... please know that I believe this to be a piece that can/should/and will remain with me for a long time to come~ I applaud loudly~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |
