"Don’t say all I have going for me is my innocence
In the end  we’re all broken souls I was just too fragile
I have become sad and lonely and the coldness I feel causes me to shake

Why?
Even in the spring I feel winter..."

serenity's reply

"Innocence
as quality
is only recognized as past
if you see it in yourself
I suggest you look again
you'll find that it has gone
and then, begins the tempering

within

like the layers of your  skin
one is not enough to hold
the sins of birth and fleshly whims
as the ravages of time
are seasons of rememberings
forget regret for blemishes
it's just a map
of where we've been

and scars

are stars that guide us home

where endings just begin again..."

Not that I could, but I do wish I had written that!

Oh, ladybug....now I'm bordering on the sin of envy and have to agree with Sharon. Absolutely, one of my favorites and one to send to the Abber.  luv ya......jo

thank you juju.

I am so pleased you liked my reply.

I have always felt a connection to you, and I was delighted that your poem happened to be the one I chose--I could relate to your words and when I saw that yours was my number 29? I felt like I won a poetic lottery!

Sadly, though, I am not feeling quite welcome here, so my participation may not be as it once was.

"Oh come let's run from this ring we're in
where the Christians claps and the Germans grin..."

Joni Mitchell

Court and Spark

not saying I'm leaving, I've made some lovely friends here, but I can't say I want to stay either.

disparity

but if if this is the last poem I post at Pip, I'm happy that it is one that included you, and one that I happened to enjoy writing.

Peace to all.

Most of you have been exceptionally kind to me. I'll never forget it.

Serenity, this is a proud and humble
response to juju's poem.  I'm glad you
found hers to respond to, as well.

Excellent challenge...excellent poetry.

Sometimes a bad experience, goes unnoticed, but the poem tells juju's lost innnocense. I think its better if it were back like before without the loss of innocense. Loss of innocense is from stress and its not a good thing to falsely believe that you are doing yourself favors. Deep introspection is needed to rid yourself of the experience.

If innocense is lost to love than it is good.

Juju? You are more lovely inside than out--and you are indeed a very beautiful young woman with an incredible future ahead of you.

I'll be around, lovie.

I just have other things I need to concentrate on right now.

I thought your poem was beautiful too. In fact, you expressed very aptly what I'm feeling right now. So it worked out kinda cool, I thought. thanks angel
