I have over one hundred and forty poems
posted in number thirty seven.
It began innocently enough.
I said, "What the hell"
"I will stick a couple of my ramblings here"
They were read and I was elated.
A "few" writings....became far more.
Most were from nearly twenty years ago.
Long buried in stacks of yellowed notebooks.
They had never seen the light of day.

As they were read and responded to...
I felt myself being drawn in.
I found myself returning time and time again.
Looking for replies...
Hoping to be read and enjoyed.
Bathing in the flattery
and discontent with neglect.

I began writing again.
Yin Yang contrast amid so many writes.
Past and present .

But...
It was not just the expressing and
releasing of emotions or looking
into psyche anymore....
There had arisen the "entertainment"
factor that I had turned my back on
once before.
Anyway...   blah  blah  blah

I had no complaints with the invisibility
that I had been living in.
Hidden in the hills.  Going into town
once a month.  Twice on rare occasions.
Isolated.   seperated.    emancipated.
Even in my travels...to and from town
and throughout my life...
I rode the back roads.   Unseen.
The hoot owl trails.
Most of my days.... from tree line
to tree line.
Hiding.    Either in or near the woods.
Or ... these days...behind the beard that
now hangs to my solar plexus.
Ego is so fragile.
And my mind is such a wiggly little worm.
I seldom go there.

or at least....not publicly.

But.....I had returned.
And had once again started taking
myself seriously.

Vanity, Vanity,
All is vanity.

Many of these writes are rooted in
"real" life experiences.
and just as many are from "watching"
Various scenarios...written in first person
just to be able to better grasp an understanding.

Do not look past the poem
believing you can find the poet.
The writings are based on thoughts
and thoughts are no more than clouds
drifting across a screen.
They come.... They go....
By the time it is written
and then read....
They have long passed
and new ones appear.
Not one of them is of any more
importance than the other.

If I rant raucously
or rave in revelry...
Neither is any more than what was SEEN
in the cloud that passed over at that time.

Truth be known...
There is only Perfect peace.
And any little mind games that I play
should not be taken seriously.

I have enjoyed watching
these clouds pass over.
I appreciate the patience
that so many of you have shown
as I played at poetry.

Perfect peace....to each of you

Uriah, you are a hoot buddy! With you wishing me perfect peace I know I'll taste it. Who could truly know a such a complex individual such as yourself by what you write alone. I can only say I know you as I percieve you to be and I greatly respect and admire that person. Bows and Perfect Peace to you! :-)

Yes your words mirror a lot and I consider that Poets writing together is like herding cats

Solitary paths can be good or very bad the strength is in the individual and it takes a lot to challenge upbringing, relations and those who would use

I'm pleased you have come down from the Mountain

Enjoyed your poem very much.  Yes, I think many of us are very complex.  However, even 20 year old poems about things that no longer apply are still part of the poet.  I think that it is almost impossible for all readers not to look for the person behind all poems, and we are our past, our present and our future.

Larry

How else to know the person, but by the poetry...since that is how this family communicates most of the time.  There is nothing wrong with that.  I like your poetry and I'm very glad you share it here.

Uriah,
I to have been a hermit not in body but in mind and have experienced many of the moments you write about.
and I also found myself returning time and time again.
Looking for replies...
Hoping to be read and enjoyed.

Uriah, I hope that you will write some more when the mood hits.  Though I've not been around much lately, I do check for your work when I'm here.  Perfect peace to you, and don't be a stranger, 'ya hear!   .....jo

Thank you all for your replies.    Like I said...My mind is such a wiggly little worm.  Sometimes it shows its true nature and coils and hisses.  So...  I have little hissy fits. LOL   Right now...it is coiled.  Who knows what will take place.   I can only watch and wait.  Regardless...I find it interesting.   A very strange place I am in.   Not bad...just strange.  ::shrugs::   Even now...it is such a strain to form a sentence.  A struggle to express a thought.   But...anyway     Its all groovy.  LOL   Perfect peace      Thanks again

Maybe the poets mind is not so different..I was just thinking about it yesterday, the why do I post thing. *shrug* I think it might be different for everyone..and different on any given day.  The mind is too complex to really know.

I do enjoy your "ramblings"...so please, do continue.

XO ~

I love your poetry ~ and you! You are so down-to-earth ~ and REAL! You express what so many of us feel but never seem to be able to (or have the guts to!) put it into words. Every word you write is a treasure! ~ like a fluffy white cloud in a clear blue sky!

Love, Joy, Abundance ~ and PEACE to you!

THANKS URIAH,

YOU WRITE OF LIFE.  BUT, I DO NOT THINK ALL IS VANITY.  YES, SOMETHINGS MAY BE, BUT THERE IS REDEMPTION AND "DIGGING" UP OLD POEMS AND SHARING THEM IS NOT VANITY BUT REDEMPTION.

And I do love your "clouds" Uriah, and your way with words.
