He sits on a shore
With a line or two
In the water

At this time in his life
Whether or not
There is bait on the hook
Is of no concern

If never the less
Something should come
And for its own reasons
Choose to tremble the bobber

Well then yes perhaps
It would be nice . . .
To have some fish
With his wine

John, this made me smile very much
and I enjoyed this verse in particular
very much..

~Well then yes perhaps
It would be nice . . .
To have some fish
With his wine~

it left me with a very peaceful feeling
entwined with a certain wisdom..

seek the flame within yourself
and let your soul be cleansed by
the fire of love.  Axel Ekenstierna

Wow. I read a lot of your work, this is by far my favorite of the ones I've seen from you.
Thanks a lot

enjoyed, this, for three reasons, 1. B/c I love to fish for fish , 2. b/c of the play on visuals...and 3. b/c I feel the same way...

very nice perspective....

John~
You grabbed a 'moment-of-me' ... somedays I sit the shore, content to let the bobber drift ... reading a good book ... and being delightfully surprised if I get a tug on the line ... but find that it isn't necessary~

Other times ... I attack my fishing trips with gusto~

Enjoyed the scenery~

Has a very nice oriental feel to it
That
I find enjoyable

Fish and wine
When blended makes a meal;
Only wine
Reduces the feel.

Loved this (as usual with your poetry)!  Sometimes I feel this way - and some times I wish I did.

Man, I wish this was about me but I am not even close to being that way, I wish I was though. Very nice, well done. Cheers   - Ed

John...I love to fish, just to sit and gaze at water and trees and things, so this poem really made me want to head out with my fishing gear and put a line in, with bait or not!  Thanks!
