The world will shake today, as pricey little shining children in ten thousand dollar suits playing at grown up will cry and wail and try to run away; reporters circling will hope to graze on carrion as they conjure Chicken Little for the timid and the greedy while the truly needy haven’t got the time to pay attention to the news, their daily views on life are always simple, will there be a bowl of rice for their kids to share today. ©2006 by icebox |

Thank you for this. |

Is this why I don't watch tv? Gosh, I can always come right here when I need truth. |

It's always the simplest things that make us the happiest. The "news" is a killer. Those addicted to it perhaps the dispensers of a silent doom that creeps unnoticed into one's mind. As we think, so we are. I always enjoy reading you. |

Well, you were right. It shook, but then it bounced back. Your concerns are echoed by me. The poor and enslaven are left behind...it's always been the way of things, hasn't it. I do watch the news and read. Used to feel like I was better off without watching TV, but I find it is a necessary "participation" these days. Although, once all this digital conversion takes place and I can be watched through the TV, I may change my mind...lol. Appreciated your words, Mr. C. ...jo [This message has been edited by iliana (01-19-2006 02:55 AM).] |

You have such a way of summing things up, that I sometimes have trouble knowing what to say to you. I feel like anything I'd say would be redundant, as I am convinced you are already in my head. Just letting you know that I was here, and I enjoyed. (Actually I'm letting everybody else know--because you already knew. ) |

Yes, indeed. Those without food often are also without any shiny electronic gadgets, without the luxury of time to stay 'on top of the news' |
