Elegant, the nimble effortless flight of a gallant soul, skimming the waters, one behind the other. Searching for that which will answer the trilling call... Fly the dawn of eve my friend, bring to nest the waiting mate, bring to heart another beat... Fly my friend...do not wait. For beyond the eve awaits the calm before the flight of feathered wings into the dwindling sunset, and then two shall trill and entwine souls till eternity's rest. |

I LOVE loons. I live in Canada and our one dollar coin is called a loonie. On it of course is a loon. When I was 18, my family went on our last family vacation as a whole family - my brother was getting married soon. For two weeks we went to sleep and waking up to the song of the loons. We were able to get close to them in the paddle boats. I just love them and think they are one of the most beautiful and graceful creatures on earth and you capture that so well. Thank you for the reminder. Sheri Adams. Jesus lives in my heart! He can in yours too!!! |

Oh, oh, oh, oh!!! I loved this. Beautiful, exquisite! You had me there, watching you, caring for the loon getting back to his/her mate! What a lovely soul you have! Thank you for this very special poem. I also enjoyed Musicmaker's response. Thank you both for this merging into nature that I love so much. Well, I suppose, with a name like mine, what can you expect? - Owl |

Do you possibly have a picture of them easily at hand that you could post here or send me? We don't have loons here. I could picture the scene so clearly, but my picture could be far out - I sorta imagined them having the shape of Egyptian geese flying. I also was a little confused about one thing. How I read it was that there were several of them (one behind the other you said), but that you were talking to only one of them either as a representation of the group, or all of them but individually, and not as a group. I hope what I what I said wasn't confusing. If it wasn't, was I correct about this? - Owl |

Oh,oh, oh, OHHHHHHH my goodness! It worked (within seconds and perfectly)! THANK YOU! The call is beautiful and haunting! The bird is beautiful. The information was interesting and the link to other birds and animals of all kinds is super-wonderful! I have saved the link to my favourites and will go into it often and find something new each time. More TTTTTHHHHHHANK YOU! - Owl |

Barry this brought back memories of canoe trips in Northern Ontario. I used to sit on the rocky shoreline of the lakes in the evening listening to the call of the loons. believe in what your heart feels... |
